  pre-1500's: Native Americans, primarily the Pipa Aha Macav, inhabit the area Colorado River Valley.
  1540: Melchlor Diaz, a Spanish explorer, is the first European to explore the area.
  1852: Steamboats begin making trips up the Colorado River from Port Isabel.
  1857: Lieutenant Edward F. Beale uses the area to test camels for desert military travel.
  1859: Camp Colorado (later known as Fort Mohave) is established.
  1864: Harrison Hardy establishes Hardyville.
  1872: A fire destroys portions of Hardyville. Another fire ravaged the town just one year later.
  1883: Mail service to Hardyville is discontinued.
  1883: Needles is founded as a result of the coming railroad.
  1890: Red Rock Cantilever Bridge is built.
  1890: Fort Mohave is disbanded.
  1900: Katherine Goldmine is discovered.
  1902: The site for Davis Dam is selected. Construction begins forty years later.
  1953: Davis Dam is completed, submerging Bull's Head Rock with water.
  1964: Don Laughlin buys the area known as South Pointe and opens a casino. The settlement is later named Laughlin by the USPS inspector.
  1984: Bullhead City is incorporated.
